Depot Talstraße
The "Depot" is a former ASEAG streetcar depot in Talstraße, which has been used for a variety of purposes. In 2017, the building was renovated and opened as a socio-cultural meeting place in the Aachen-Nord district. Here you will find a meeting point in the district, social facilities for families, children and young people as well as a cultural and artistic offering. Event areas
The Depot in Talstraße has flexible event spaces for every occasion. The spacious piazza of around 900 square meters offers space for up to 800 people, depending on the event and equipment. The additional seminar room can be used for smaller groups of up to 30 people. Whether technology, seating or stage set-up - individual equipment is possible on request!

History - Present - Future

In 1925, ASEAG built a streetcar depot in Talstraße, which was extended in 1961 with the addition of a 5-storey head-end building. After its closure in the 1970s, it was used as a storage area for carnival floats, among other things. Since 2017, the building in Talstraße has been a central cornerstone for socio-cultural work in Aachen-Nord. A wide range of cultural and information events take place in the piazza. Social and cultural organizations and associations come together in the depot and fill this meeting place and meeting point in the district with life. The various tenants guarantee a colorful and diverse range of consulting services, events, seminars, exhibitions, information, events, cooperations and much more.
History
In 1925, the Aachener Straßenbahn- und Energieversorgungs-Aktiengesellschaft (ASEAG) built a streetcar depot in Talstraße. The streetcars were housed on nine tracks and two floors, which was a special feature at the time. The basement was used for bus transportation. The two-storey design of the facilities in Talstrasse and Oberstrasse resulted from the height of the streets they touched. The new development in Talstraße was the second new development alongside the buildings in Oberstraße and Adalbertsteinweg.
Present
In 2017, after the building was put into operation by the City of Aachen's cultural department, the event rooms were refurbished. In addition to the aha exhibition room and the seminar room, the Piazza in particular, with its simple structural concept and old industrial charm, offers a unique banqueting hall for large and small events. Events of all kinds can take place here. In addition to conventional events, unusual programs are also presented. The target group is not only young people and students, but also adults who are open to new formats.
The future
The conversion of the former streetcar depot into a district center that offers many social and cultural activities is the flagship project of the "Socially Integrative City Aachen North" programme. The City of Aachen's cultural department put the "Depot" into operation at the beginning of 2017.

This is where players from the creative industries meet social institutions, educational programs for children and young people meet innovation and the common good. This results in projects and events that fill the socio-cultural orientation of the building with life every day and strengthen the Aachen-Nord district.

Euregional center for digital education
The Euregional Center for Digital Education is the central location for media advice, training and further training in media education and technical issues, active media work with children and young people, lending media and equipment, online distribution (EDMOND.NRW), media technology equipment at schools, lending and servicing and repairing special audiovisual equipment.
Youth vocational assistance of the city of Aachen
Youth Vocational Assistance is part of the Children, Youth and School Department of the City of Aachen, Department of Educational Services and, as part of child and youth welfare, makes a contribution to youth social work. Since 1983, it has been helping young people and young people with special needs to integrate into the world of work.
District library
Whether exciting novels, informative non-fiction books or captivating radio plays - the Depot district library invites you to browse and discover. It is a lively place for people of all ages to read, play, relax, work, meet friends or attend events. For children in particular, there is a colorful selection of stories, Tonies, games and TipToi books - to take away or read aloud. As an open library for library customers aged 16 and over, the library is open 42 hours a week, 11 of which are staffed.

The Aachen North district office is the point of contact for all people and stakeholders in the Aachen North district. It accompanies the projects of the disposition fund during their creation, development and implementation. In the case of major urban projects within the framework of Socially Integrative City, it supports the sub-project managers in particular in presenting these projects to the public. It acts as a link between citizens, stakeholders, local politicians and the city administration.
Municipal youth center OT Talstraße
The municipal OT Talstraße offers teenagers and young adults the opportunity to spend their free time playing, chilling out, doing handicrafts, cooking and much more.
Art in the neighborhood
The "Art in the Neighborhood" project is part of the school's social and environmental work and has been taking place at the depot since 2023 under the direction of Jan Bernhardt. Pupils from the Aachen-Ost school association can implement their own art projects here with small-scale activities, often in the form of graffiti art. Many of these are now part of the cityscape, such as the colorful bicycle hangers in front of the depot.

Atelierhaus Aachen e.V.
The Atelierhaus Aachen e.V. is an innovative center for art. With regular exhibitions and cross-border formats, the Aha is a platform for young positions in the Euregio. With 22 art studios, the Atelierhaus is an important institution for the development and creation of art in Aachen. 30 artists work here in various disciplines: painting, object, photography, video, installation and kinetics.
Kinderschutzbund Aachen e.V.
The Kinderschutzbund Aachen is committed to improving the living conditions of children and young people, parents and families. It is committed to good educational and leisure facilities and a child-friendly and healthy environment.
Family Education Center of the DRK
The German Red Cross (DRK) supports and accompanies families in various life situations. Our activities focus on strengthening the parent-child relationship and parental parenting skills.
Tenant Protection Association e.V.
As the only tenants' organization in our region, we have been representing the rights of our members since 1922. We therefore have many years of experience in tenancy law matters. The Aachen Tenants' Association currently has around 10,000 members and represents your interests through the German Tenants' Association.

The Hungarian-German Circle of Friends informs the German public about Hungarian history, culture and politics.
