The date of the marriage is usually agreed with the engaged couple at the latest when the marriage is registered.
The desired wedding date can be reserved at the earliest one year in advance by telephone only. Personal appointments one year in advance (e.g. for popular wedding venues/dates) will not be considered. We also do not accept reservation requests by e-mail. Only one appointment will be reserved per couple. The allocation of appointments by telephone is random and every couple has the same chance of getting the desired date.
If you reserve a date, you will be given a deadline by which you must register with the Aachen registry office. In the case of an out-of-town registration, the registration documents from the other registry office must be received by the deadline.
The reservation of the marriage date only becomes binding once the registration has been made at the Aachen registry office and you have received a written confirmation of the date.
After the deadline has expired, the reserved appointment will be deleted and will no longer be available to you. If you contact us before the deadline expires, we may be able to postpone the deadline if you can provide special reasons.
If you no longer require the reserved appointment, please inform us immediately by email.
On public holidays or in case of organizational necessity, the wedding dates are canceled, we often offer alternative dates. On special occasions or special dates (e.g. 24.4.24) we offer additional wedding dates. We will be happy to inform you of this when you book your date.
In the months of January to March, only one Saturday per month is offered; these marriages then take place exclusively in the registry office.
