Educational counseling
In the event of parenting difficulties, conflict situations or other family problems, the staff of the social area teams are on hand to provide support and find solutions.
Separation and divorce counseling, contact counseling
The social area teams offer support in the event of partnership conflicts, separation and divorce in order to develop an amicable concept for parental care and contact. In the event of separation and divorce, counseling is intended to help parents to manage the situation in such a way that the children are involved as little as possible in any disputes and suffer as a result of the separation, to establish a partnership-based coexistence in the family and to overcome conflicts and crises in the family. Contact counseling offers support for parents or families who have questions or uncertainties in connection with contact with their children and visiting arrangements.
Support for caregivers and guardians
Carers and guardians appointed by the guardianship court receive regular advice on parenting issues. The social area teams ensure that the upbringing and care of the ward is guaranteed.
Educational assistance
In the event of educational difficulties, you can apply for educational assistance. This is offered in outpatient, day-care or inpatient form. An assistance plan is drawn up to ensure appropriate support. Young adults between the ages of 18 and 21 can also receive help. Whether and in what form help can be provided is decided on a case-by-case basis upon application. Advice is provided in the social area teams.
Help with child endangerment
If children and young people are in distress, information about neglect or abuse can be reported directly to the crisis intervention service via the child protection hotline 0241 432-5151. The emergency number is available around the clock.
Help in family emergencies
In acute emergency situations, such as when parents are suddenly hospitalized, affected families can turn to the social area teams for support.
Participation in court proceedings
At the request of the courts, the social area teams provide support in parental custody proceedings or in the regulation of access rights and bring educational and social aspects into the decision-making process.
The five social area teams are located decentrally in the city.
