Full-time care
Foster children in permanent care
The City of Aachen's foster care service only places children in permanent care. Permanent care is intended for children and young people whose upbringing in their family of origin is not sufficiently guaranteed in the long term. The focus of this help is on building a secure and lasting bond between the child and the foster family so that the child experiences stability and continuity.
As a rule, the child lives with their foster parents until they become independent. For you as a foster parent, this means that you are taking in another family member for a long period of time.
Family on-call care
Children and young people in emergency and crisis situations can be placed in standby families for a maximum of three months. This temporary placement in a family offers all persons and institutions involved (family of origin, youth welfare office, judicial authorities and others) the opportunity to develop a solution-oriented future perspective for the people concerned.
The family on-call care is organized by the Evangelische Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Brand.
