Support association

The "Verein der Benutzer, Freunde und Förderer der Stadtbibliothek Aachen e. V." was founded in 1993 by citizens of Aachen to support the city library. All funds raised by the association go solely to the library.

One of the aims of the association is to ...

  • despite rising prices, more books and media can be purchased by the city library.
  • valuable old literature can be restored and refurbished for use.
  • supports the library's public relations work.
  • development and modernization projects supported with state funds can be co-financed.

The following projects, for example, have been financed or supported in recent years:

  • Events (exhibitions, lecture series, readings, concerts)
  • Fees and materials for handicrafts, painting and reading activities for children and young people
  • Grant for the procurement of library equipment and technical devices
  • Regular book flea markets

Annual membership fee:
Adults €20
For pupils, trainees and students: €10
Companies €50

Contributions and donations are tax-deductible.
