With the library card, anyone can use the digital media offer 7 days a week, anytime and anywhere: over 12,000 German-language eBooks, electronic catalogs, newspaper and magazine archives as well as film classics, children's audio books and educational games.
Onleihe of the Aachen region

Not only physical media can be borrowed from Aachen City Library, but also electronic media via the Onleihe Region Aachen service.
With a user ID and password, you can access around 12,000 German-language eBooks, including novels for all literary tastes, biographies, essays, crime novels, poetry, fairy tales and non-fiction books on culture, nature, history, religion, health, work and much more.
For those who prefer listening to reading, the Onleihe Region Aachen offers a wide range of different eAudios. There are numerous cooking courses, travel reports and guidebooks. The stock of fiction audio books and radio plays is also extensive. In addition, six national daily newspapers and weekly magazines can be borrowed from the Onleihe Region Aachen.
In order not to lose track of this extensive offer, there is an eCircle on the first floor of the Central Library, with which the entire stock of the Onleihe Region Aachen can be viewed.

Digital library (DigiBib)
Since 2011, the Digital Library (DigiBib) has offered standardized access to the library's information services via a single user interface.
Access is possible both in the library and from home. Free databases can be used as a guest without registration, but a valid library user card is required to use the full range of databases and services.
The content of the digital library reflects the library's entire range of electronic catalogs, reference tools and databases, including the Munzinger Archive and Nexis. The Munzinger archive contains information on people and countries of the world and provides access to various other encyclopaedias.
Nexis enables differentiated, international newspaper and journal research as well as access to business databases.
The Digibib search mask enables simultaneous searches for books, journals, articles and electronic full texts in a variety of sources. In addition to the online catalog of the city library, the catalogs of other Aachen libraries as well as German and international library catalogs can be searched. Free and licensed, general and subject-specific literature and full-text databases are also integrated, including the databases of the Munzinger Archive and the Brockhaus Encyclopaedia. The selection of sources can be customized. Literature can be obtained from other libraries via interlibrary loan for a small fee.filmfriend
