Mental health of pupils
If you would like to learn more about this topic, we recommend tomoni.schools
The tomoni.schools study is a cooperation project of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital of Würzburg. At tomoni.schools, teachers learn to recognize signs of mental illness in pupils, address them in an appreciative manner and refer pupils and their families to an appropriate support system. Teachers take part in a total of eight online modules (1.5-2h). The modules each contain a part on knowledge transfer about mental illness and a part on empowerment (teaching strategies and practicing them in role plays) for dealing with at-risk or already mentally ill young people.
Topics of the modules are:
- Basic module (introduction to the topic of students' mental health, legal basics, basics of care structures)
- Depression
- Anxiety disorder
- Eating disorder
- Suicidal tendencies
- Self-harming behavior
- Addiction
- Parent meeting
