Career exploration

Vocational exploration is a practice-oriented and pedagogically supported vocational orientation in inter-company vocational training centers. This makes it easier for young people from participating general education schools to make the transition to dual vocational training.

After a potential analysis, the pupils in year 8 gain practical experience in three different occupational fields as part of a 3-day career exploration. Under the guidance of the trainers, they test their aptitude and inclination in various professional fields. The practical days are supplemented by an accompanying educational program. Special focus is placed on the requirements of the world of work in relation to the personality profile of the students, key skills relevant to training and self-assessment and the assessment of others. The aim is to support the pupils in their individual career choices. At the end of the career exploration, the pupils receive a certificate of participation on the last day, which includes an assessment of their key and specialist skills.
