The project "Ausbildungswege NRW - Coaching ausbildungsinteressierter SchülerInnen des Übergangssektors" is part of the "Fachkräfteoffensive NRW" and is aimed at students interested in training from the vocational college "Ausbildungsvorbereitung" and "Berufsfachschule 1 und 2". All students interested in training on the above-mentioned courses are to be offered further support with the long-term goal of being placed in training.
The coaches offer young people the following support options:
- Advice on organizing the transition from school to training/work
- Support and promotion of self-organization
- Support in finding an internship/apprenticeship
- Guidance and support during the individual application process
- Accompaniment to important appointments (e.g. personal initial contact with companies, appointments with authorities)
- Socio-educational support for individual problems that affect the start of training
In addition to individual counseling for individual students, coaching can also take place in a group context. The above-mentioned support package also includes close cooperation with teachers, school social workers and multi-professional teams, careers guidance specialists from the employment agency, the job center, chambers and other relevant stakeholders. In the Aachen - Düren agency district, the program is implemented by low-tec, Fortbildungsakademie der Wirtschaft, QualiTec and the Youth Employment Agency of the City of Aachen.
The City of Aachen's Youth Vocational Assistance Service runs the project at two vocational colleges in Aachen:
- Käthe Kollwitz School Aachen
- Mies van der Rohe School Aachen
If interested, students can find the transition guides at their own vocational college. It is also possible to contact them in advance by email or telephone.
