Youth vocational assistance

The City of Aachen's youth vocational assistance supports young people in their integration into the world of work and in the transition from school to work. Its work is based on the legal requirements of § 13 SGB VIII. The aim of youth vocational assistance is to help young people broaden their life prospects, strengthen their social and practical skills and enable a successful transition into training or work.

Close cooperation with schools, the employment agency, the job center, the Aachen Chamber of Crafts and other relevant partners ensures comprehensive support for the target groups. Of course, all advisory services are also available to parents, teachers, trainers and other institutions in order to provide the best possible support and guidance for young people.

The team

Youth vocational assistance is part of the City of Aachen's Department for Children, Youth and Schools, Youth Support and Youth Welfare at Schools and, as part of child and youth welfare, makes a contribution to youth social work. Since 1983, it has been helping young people and young people with special needs to integrate into the world of work. It offers young people socio-educational support during the transition from school to work in order to promote their education and vocational training, integration into the world of work and their social integration.

Support

Through our counseling and support services, we offer young people the opportunity to develop a tailor-made follow-up perspective after leaving school and accompany them on this path.

  • Support during development

The target group: Young adults under the age of 25 who live in difficult family circumstances and have little or no adequate help and contacts for career guidance, some of whom have school deficits and few key qualifications. On request, the target group receives support from advice centers, authorities and service providers as well as the support required in individual cases when looking for training and a job. There is close cooperation with the job center and independent youth welfare organizations as part of the youth employment agency.
