Parking garages in the city center

The parking garages in Aachen's city center have plenty of spaces available. As a rule, there are always more than 2,000 to 3,000 free parking spaces, except on three days during the Christmas market. Simply follow the signs on the roadside parking guidance system.

Parking on the roadside

In Aachen, parking spaces in public areas in designated areas are subject to a charge. From Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., one hour costs 3 euros. The maximum parking time is 60 minutes, for electric vehicles 120 minutes. The city of Aachen recommends parking in the parking garages because parking there is cheaper and not limited in time.

Closure of the A544

Please note that the A544 highway access road to the city center is completely closed. It will not be available for a longer period of time due to the construction of a new bridge. Please use the other freeway junctions to get to the city center. Coming from Cologne or the Netherlands on the A4, we recommend taking the Aachen-Zentrum exit. On the A44 coming from Düsseldorf or Belgium, we recommend the Aachen-Brand exit.
