History creates future responsibilities
The culture of a Western nation has many roots. In Aachen, one is always present. The Romans established themselves here with the warm water springs beneath the town centre. Standing on the Hof, one feels directly the tension between modern architecture and the older districts of the town. At the 'Katschhof' - for many insiders one of the finest spots in Europe - this tension is tangible; on one side the Dom where in the Middle Ages, Kings were crowned. On the other side, the Gothic town hall, built on the foundations of Charlemagne's castle. Surrounded by imposing houses of the last centuries. To walk through this domain is a stimulating experience.
Aachen awaits you!
