Art is a daily confrontation

Exhibition at 'Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum' (c) Verkehrsverein Bad Aachen e. V.To Aachen for art  and culture? A great idea! The broad spectrum of art treasures that the town offers is not only recognised by insiders and experts. The modern work, for example, in the Ludwig Forum for International Art (a former factory from the Bauhaus period), is widely appreciated. In contrast, you can admire the unique treasury of the Cathedral, with the most valuable collection of religious art north of the Alps...a 'must' for every visitor!

Cathedral, 'Barbarossaleuchter' (c) HerrmannBut that's not all. It goes without saying, that nobody can come to Aachen without visiting the Cathedral itself and the coronation hall of the historic town hall. And naturally  you won't want to miss the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum, with paintings and sculptures ranging from the Middle Ages up to today. In the museum at the romantic castle Frankenburg, you can absorb the fascinating history of the town. The exhibition at the 'Internationale Zeitungmuseum' over the history of the media is also well worth a visit. Just as central you'll find the Couven Museum in the elegant Monheim House where the daily life of citizens back in the 18th and 19th century is recreated. In short, the culture of Aachen calls.
