Art from North Rhine Westphalia
The palatial, late-baroque structure of the former Imperial Abbey houses an exhibition of contemporary art from North Rhine-Westphalia which stands in delightful contrast to its venerable surroundings. The exhibition comprises a selection of works of art which the state government has been purchasing since about 1945 as part of its measures to promote artists in our federal state. There is also an exhibition building, financed by the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia, where many temporary exhibitions take place.
